LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT
We wish to acknowledge this land on which Casa Maíz operates. For thousands of years it has been the land of many Nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples. Today this meeting place is still home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island. This territory is protected by the Dish with One Spoon Wampun Belt Covenant, which requires that those who inhabit the land share it peaceably and care for it.
